The client was a highly successful offline business which planned to extend its offering to include a web-based service. The venture was at a very early stage and the client was in the process of seeking other partners.
This service was at the planning stages, and Internet Vision was retained to provide general advice on a strategy for launching the venture, with particular focus on the design of the technical infrastructure.
What Internet Vision did
Internet Vision worked closely with the client to understand and help formulate its online business aims.
We were therefore able to identify those elements of the proposed service offering which were crucial for launch, and those which were better suited for inclusion later.
Due to the size, complexity and cost of implementing a complete system with all the desired functionality, the client decided on a modular approach.
Since the venture was at an early stage, Internet Vision suggested that a working prototype of the system might be the optimal choice for the client. We designed and costed a full-scale system for launch. We also built a smaller system, which would scale effectively to meet the client's launch and ongoing traffic projections.
Rapidly, a client with limited experience of the online world, but already a successful off-line business, had a tailored system design that would both meet its immediate business need (to demonstrate proof-of-concept to potential partners), and would scale quickly to enable a rapid launch as the venture developed further.
